Course marking changes, effective Wednesday 24th April 2024. New short game practice area (between 1st and 18th holes): Having considered a number of issues regarding this area the competitions committee have agreed that it will be designated as Out of Bounds. It is currently marked with temporary white stakes and these will be replaced with permanent ones on completion of the works. Rule 18 applies. Penalty area to the left of the 16th hole: This penalty area has now been marked as a Red Penalty Area. Rule 17 applies. In the unlikely event that a ball strikes the boundary fence and enters the penalty area from that side then Model Local Rule B-2.2 applies: “….if the ball last crossed the edge of a red penalty area that coincides with a boundary of the course, as an extra relief option for one penalty stroke, the player may drop the original ball or another ball on the opposite side of the penalty area."
