Winter Course Protection Measures
Winter Play - Course Protection Measures 2023/2024

- Winter protection mats to be introduced on Monday 4th of December 2023 until mid-March 2024 approx. (Depends on Spring weather conditions – will be reviewed at the time)

- Mats to be used on all tightly mown surfaces, i.e., fairways, approaches, and selective surrounds.

- Heavy duty driving range mats will be used on all par 3’s. This action will protect the par 3 surfaces from divots and all foot damage from golf spikes and general traffic. Compulsory to play from this mat. (Mats will be the same as the ones at the practice nets. These will be moved daily to stop any yellowing of the surface)

- Mats to be used on all other tees if an iron is being used.

- No white lines or white stakes on fairway edge this year.

- No option to lift to the side - If your ball is on the fairway, you must use a mat.

- A white line will instead be installed around each green complex. This white line will extend onto the approach. Once you are inside this white line, you can play it as it lies. No mat necessary.

- If your ball is off the fairway and in the semi rough or beyond, play it as it lies.

- Any bunker that is under maintenance/construction will be marked “Out of Play”.

- Any newly turfed areas will be marked “Out of Play”.

- To distribute high volumes of play, from Sunday 19th November until 17th December all play will begin from the back nine on every Sunday. Alternative Tuesdays will also see play start from the back nine, tee sheets will be set up to take bookings accordingly.

- Please adhere to all protection ropes, posts and signage.

Thank you for your adherence to these necessary measures required to protect the course
