This years season will kick off on Saturday 30th March with our annual Captain v Vice Captain Match.
There is couple of differences in this years fixture list so let us please explain our reasoning for them - First up most notably will be the Club Championship going back to July like during covid times, This was a committee decision to trial the later time of year, Our competition numbers rapidly drop after the club championship in June so we are trialling this out to see if makes any difference with competition numbers, We have also received comments in past that our championship is to early in the season so with both those reasons we have tried something different. We must stress to members this is a trial and we will reflect on this and feedback at the end of the season to see how we go about it next year.
We are also taking names earlier this year for the club knockouts played throughout the season and plan to have the draws up for the 1st April to allow more time for games to be played - The Catignani Trophy will again be the top 16 nett qualifiers following the change from 32 to 16 last year.
We also aim to have a team represent us in the Handicap & Scratch Summer Leagues along with the Fife Singles Match play & Greensomes
Our open in September has been brought forward to end of August and a team event has been put in for the first weekend in September, This is because we have already agreed this week in the diary with Fife Golf Trust to carry out our maintenance on the greens so that any essential coring/works that needs done can be completed this week.
We will also been putting out our weather policy for 2024 which will affect competitions in any adverse weather so please keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks.
The committee are open to feedback positive or negative on all aspects of the fixture list so please feel free to contact either Match Sec, Captain or Vice Captain if you wish to discuss or suggest ideas for this.
