Grass on the Driving Range
Nouvelles
Opening the grass driving range.

From today the 1st of July, the grass driving range will be open for members to use. It will stay open throughout the summer, unless we have any severe weather or the grass area is abused and not respected.

Their will be a roped area on the grass where you must hit in between, please don’t not hit outside of this area. We will move the roped area every few days to fresh parts of the grass.

Please bear in mind that from the front of the grass area it’s only 250 yards to the trees at the back of the driving range. If your driver is going into or running into those trees the ball will be lost and you may injure someone walking on the path behind those trees.

While the grass area is open, hitting from the mats on the range is forbidden due to health and safety reasons. The mats will be turned upside down and the tees removed.

Please look at and read the image below, which shows the best way to maximise the grass area and keep it open as long as we can. The image shows how to hit irons and wedges off grass and not take unnecessary huge divot every shot.

The grass area will not be in play while the Clutch Tour is here from the 21st-24th July, they will be forced to use the mats, this is to prevent the professionals playing in the tournament destroying the grass area.

We are having some issues with range baskets; they are regularly going missing leaving us with not enough baskets to use on a day-to-day basis. Driving range balls and baskets should not be taken off the premises. Please hit the balls that you have purchased or simply leave them for someone else to hit if you are in a rush. If you have one of our baskets please return it ASAP.

Lots of signage has been put around the driving range and grass area asking members to not take baskets or range balls home, we do have CCTV on the driving range and any members being seen to taking baskets home will be contacted by the Pro shop staff.
