Golf course update 7th September 2026 Following the last fortnights rain the course has started making progress recovering from the drought we’ve experienced this summer. We have received more rain in 8 days than we did from the start of April to mid August . The combination of the rain and recently applied wetting agents and bio stimulants has given us some positive results and our work continues to recover as much turf density as possible before temperatures reduce and growth slows down. Over seeding of greens, tees, approaches and select fairways will be taking place, this will aid recovery and allows us to improve the sward composition by adding more desired species into it. By doing this we hope to continue to improve the quality of areas for next season. The mowers will be out in force the next few weeks taming the flush of growth , height of cuts will begin to slowly raise as we move into autumn, helping reduce stress and lower the risks of turf disease. As part of our ongoing autumn and winter management regular applications of nutrients and bio stimulants will be used to help manage disease and stress as the seasons progress . Towards the end of the month topdressing of the tees, approaches and select fairways will be taking place as part of our programme to improve the quality of these areas and aid in the management of worm casts too. The week commencing 28th we will be starting work on our bunker upgrades. We’ll be starting on 16 greenside which will be cleared , base lifted and lined before new sand added at a later date . The bunkers being worked on will become GUR and updates daily on the club v1 app to make players aware of works going on. To summarise the next few weeks our focus will be to maximise recovery and prepare the turf across the course for the autumn and winter ahead , mowing heights will be slightly raised , feed, seed and sprays applied and towards the end of month topdressing and project work will begin.
